Vorbeck has partnered with Kordsa Global to patent tire fabric based on a mixture of graphene and polymer. US patent application number 20120237749 was filed on September 16, 2011 and published today. Kordsa is a leader in nylon, polyester, and other types of synthetic fabrics, based in Turkey, with sales reaching almost $1 billion last year. This is exactly the type of application that graphene needs – used every day by millions of people. With this patent Vorbeck and Kordsa strengthen their companies’ positions and the graphene market itself. Kordsa is listed on the Turkish stock exchange.
