Graphene has gained tremendous publicity in the past few days, mostly thanks to BBCs Science Editor David Shukman. As if the articles on the graphene patent surge and the miraculous properties of graphene were not enough, Mr. Shukman appeared on the network’s television program together with John Lettow, president of Vorbeck Materials. Watch the video here:
The publicity follows a recent announcement of a government investment into graphene research, and commotion regarding the UKs small partake in the graphene patent landscape. The UK’s lag behind other countries in terms of graphene commercialization is exemplified by the fact that Vorbeck is based in the US. We sure hope that the next time graphene hype hits the island, it will be to show that the UK has itself developed a graphene industry.
